This week, The Department of Financial Services dispatched a Mobile Command Operations Vehicle (MCOV) to Cedarhurst Village Hall. Inside, employees took calls and helped residents and business owners that were affected by the massive flooding that occurred during Hurricane Sandy.

In two days over 100 residents and business owners received assistance. In addition, they were educated regarding a new program called NY Smart Home. The program helps address remaining unmet housing recovery needs in a variety of categories, including home repair/rehabilitation, mitigation/elevation and/or buyouts.

Help is still available at www.nysandyhelp.ny.gov or at the recovery hotline 1-855-NYS-Sandy.
