April 7, 2014, Rabbi Mordechai Yaffe and the students of Mesivta Ateres Yaakov presented their generous donation to Lawrence-Cedarhurst Fire Department. When Rabbi Yaffe became aware that the fire department was in need of a second aquatic vehicle, he knew this would be a great project for the students to give back to the community. In less than a week the student government has fulfilled their goal by raising over $1,500 for the purchase of a new rescue boat.

Mayor, Andrew J. Parise and the Board of Trustees are grateful for the hard work the students of Mesivta Ateres Yaakov put in towards raising the money and their generous donation given to our local fire department. “Your donation will always be remembered with pride.”
