Italy was in the air at Andrew J. Parise Park for its annual concert in Cedarhurst. The talented Lawrence High School Jazz Band opened up this week concert with a mix of trumpets, trombones and a rhythm section of pianos, guitar, bass and drums. This assorted ensemble from these gifted and talented kids had everyone in the park dancing. After the Jazz Band performance, the young and talented Michael Harper sang the National Anthem under the gazebo. His voice echoed throughout the park while Cedarhurst sang along. Once the voices in the park begun to fade the talented Moreno Fruzzetti took to the stage for Italian Night in the park.

Moreno Fruzzetti, a native of Pisa, has been capturing the ears and hearts of fans worldwide for over 30 years and continues with no end in sight. An accomplishment many artists long to achieve. However, it seems this vocalist has found his recipe: the combination of his powerful tenor sound, captivating onstage presence, and a variety of operatic arias, pop music and American classics.

Over 60 benefactors contributed to the 2014 series including the opening night sponsors: Five Towns Mason Materials Inc, TD Bank, NYS Senator Dean Skelos, Town of Hempstead Senior Councilman Anthony J Santino, Maidenbaum Property Tax Reduction Group, LLC, St. John’s Episcopal Hospital, Cimato & Sons Nursery, A.
