Cedarhurst Holiday Festivities

Mayor Benjamin Weinstock and the Board of trustees invite you to participate in the seasonal holiday celebrations in the beautiful Andrew J. Parise Park.  Join with friends and neighbors for the lighting of the Chanukah Menorah and for an afternoon of Christmas caroling and tree lighting.

The celebration of the wonders of the Chanukah miracle begins Sunday, November 28th at 6:00 pm.  For each of the eight nights of the holiday, Rabbi Wolowik and the Five Towns Chabad Center will lead the festivities by lighting the largest Menorah in the Five Towns, followed by singing, dancing and special treats.

Each night the menorah lighting will begin at 6:00 PM except for December 1st which will begin at 5:00 PM, and December 3rd which will begin at 3:30 PM.
There will also be 2 special events following the candle lighting that you don’t want to miss.

  • Car Menorah Parade on Sunday, November 28th
  • Gelt Drop on Monday, November 29

The celebration of Christmas in Cedarhurst begins on Sunday, December 12th, at 4:00 PM.  We will gather with family and friends around the traditional bonfire, eat delicious freshly roasted chestnuts and enjoy plenty of hot chocolate and cookies as we wait for our surprise visitor! Carolers from St. Joachim’s Church, St. Joseph’s Church and Our Lady of Good Counsel will lead us in songs of the season that everyone knows and loves.  To top off the evening, Mayor Weinstock will continue the exciting tradition of inviting the crowd to count down to the dramatic lighting of the splendid Park Christmas tree, as Santa arrives.

For everyone’s comfort and safety, we recommend that all who attend bring masks and flashlights and use them as needed.
