Village of Cedarhurst teams up with Home Depot to make our homes safer

In light of the recent tragic fire in Brooklyn that took the lives of seven children, Mayor Weinstock has partnered with Home Depot in providing hundreds of free state-of-the-art battery operated smoke detectors to our Village residents. The smoke detectors are being shipped to Village Hall and are scheduled to arrive by April 3.

Cedarhurst residents can receive a smoke detector at Village Hall while our supply lasts. We will post a notice on our website to announce when they arrive.

We encourage everyone to install and maintain properly tested smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detectors in their homes, condos, coops and apartments. They are proven life-saving devices and are inexpensive to buy and easy to use.
